Professional Development Website Options

Online Professional Development at work:
One of the 3 purposes of early release Wednesdays is professional development.
(Collaboration and regular duties are the other two.)  You can access online professional
development during early release Wednesdays-paid time
See some options below.

Online Professional Development at home
You can also access online professional development at home, using your professional
hours (though NOT POOL hours).  If using your professional hours, we suggest that you print
out evidence of this directly from the website, so you have it if the Principal requests it.
If you are simply doing reading at home (not using an interactive website), we recommend that you discuss this with the Principal in advance, to ensure that you will be paid for this time from
your professional hours.  See below.

Classes and Conferences:
You may access NESPA's Professional Development Fund (up to $300 per event)
to pay for substitute release time for trainings, conferences and classes.  It can also be used
to pay for registration and tuition fees.

psesd.org:

Create your own profile. This has a few classes that could be of interest.

autisminternetmodules.org:

You are given immediate access by using your full school email address, including nsd.org.
There are a lot of Academic and Behavior strategies offered. Could be great for an Early
Release day. Get several people together and have a sign in sheet. Watch it, and then
discuss it. Print test/certificate and submit a copy with your sign in sheet.

nsd.wa.safeschools.com

Another site where you use your full school email to access. Plenty of interventions and
strategies offered. Class lengths vary greatly. Print test/certificate at the end. One of the best
sites so far.

interventioncentral.org

Looks like you can download some for free. The site has a pretty good offering of Academic
and Behavioral.  Also, some one page strategies you can read, then probably print for
verification.

Just remember we are the Puget Sound ESD.
Former NESPA Co-President Liz Gordon took an autism class and said,
"...it was easy to navigate and you print a certificate when you finish.
Take as long as you need, you can come back to it anytime. The course
description gives the number of Professional hours you can use.  Send
a copy of your certificate with your pay sheet when you claim professional
